Every great kids' ministry
starts with one yes.
Here's exactly what happens between raising your hand and stepping into a classroom — five clear steps, start to finish.
Welcome & Introduction
Every Sunday and Wednesday, a room full of kids gets to hear that they're known and loved by God — and that happens because someone said yes to showing up for them. That's what KidMin is. Whether you're new to serving or you've done this for years, here's exactly what to expect: five steps, start to finish.
Complete the Ministry Application
Tell us a bit about yourself and where you feel called to serve. This is the official first step for every ministry team at MFGF — including KidMin.
Interview Scheduled & Conducted
This is just a conversation — no need to overthink it. The KidMin Director will sit down with you to talk through your application and get a feel for where you'd thrive, whether that's cuddling babies, chasing toddlers, wrangling curious preschoolers, or keeping up with the elementary crew. If there's anything you didn't get to fully explain on the application, this is the place to dig into it. So don't stress over getting every answer perfect — that's what this step is for.
Background Check & References
Protecting kids comes first. Volunteers 18 and older complete a background check (unless a current one is already on file) and we reach out to the personal references listed on your application.
Training Videos Sent
Short video training series covering classroom procedures, safety policy, curriculum overview, and check-in/check-out system.
Added to the Ministry Schedule
Welcome to the team! Each month, you'll get an email asking for your availability for the following month. Once the schedule is published, you'll receive a link to a shared Google Sheet where you can see exactly which days and services you're serving — updated in real time, so you can always check back.
